Fermi LAT weekly report N. 260


Covered period: 2013 May 26 - Jun 2
LAT Mission week: 259.57 - 260.57


  • CTA 102 is active during the week peaking at 1.9E-6 on May 28th and 1.5E-6 on May 31st.
  • PKS 1424-41 is bright and active with daily flux of 1.6E-6 on June 1st.
  • PKS 0426-380 is active during the week and peaking at 1.3E-6 on May 31st.
  • Other blazars detected, also sporadically, during the week, with daily flux below 1E-6 level are: Mkn 421, PKS 0454–234, S5 0716+71, PMN J2345-1555, PMN J0017–0512, S5 1044+71, NRAO 190, 3C 454.3 and 4C +38.41 (B2 1633+382).
Fluxes are in the unit of photons/cm^2/s above 100 MeV. All uncertainties are statistical only.

Fermi LAT weekly report N. 259


Covered period : 2013.May 20 - 2013.May 26
LAT Mission week: 259.57 - 260.57

  • The source PKS 1424-41 was seen all week in a bright state with flux values greater than 1 X 10-6, while the blazar PKS 0426-380 was detected in a high state only on May 20.
  • The FSRQ PMN J0017–0512 was detected on May 24, with daily flux of 1.1 X 10-6; the day after the flux increased its value up to 2.0 X 10-6, 52 times the mean flux value recorded in 2FGL. This detection was eligible for an ATel that was published on May 27.See ATel#5089.
  • PKS 1124-186 was detected three times with daily flux of about 0.5-0.6 X 10-6 and PKS 0454–234 was seen after May 22 with fluxes always lower than 1 X 10-6.
  • The sources significantly detected sporadically were PKS 0507+17, S5 1044+71, PKS 2326–502, PMN J2345-1555, 4C 38.41 and S5 0716+71.
  • LS I+61 303 was detected on May 26 with flux value greater than 2 X 10-6.

Fluxes are in the unit of photons/cm2/s above 100 MeV. All errors are statistical only.

Fermi LAT weekly report N. 258


Covered period: 2013 May 13 - May 19
LAT Mission week: 258.57 - 259.57

  • The LAT detected a huge solar activity in coincidence with the X3.2 Solar Flare of May 13th and with the X1.2 flare of May 15th
  • The LAT detected also an activity toward the location of GRB130518, see GCN 14675
  • PKS 1424-41 is bright and active with daily flux of 1.8E-6 on May 13th and 2.1E-6 on May 16th.
  • PKS 0507+17 is active during the week and peaking at 2E-6 on May 19.
  • Blazars 4C +38.41 (B2 1633+382) detected in some days of the week in bright state (daily flux level above or around 1e-6).
  • Galactic plane TeV source VER J0521+211 flaring on May 15th at 1.8E-6.
  • Some activity detected by a source positionally coincident with TXS 0500+640 (GB6 J0505+6406), detected on May 16th and 17th between 0.3 and 0.5E-6
  • Detected also NGC 1275 on May 17th.
  • Other blazars detected, also sporadically, during the week, with daily flux below 1E-6 level are: Mkn 421, PKS 0426-380, S5 0716+71, CRATES J1435+2021, OX 169, PMN J2345-1555, B3 1343+451, 3C 454.3 and TXS 1700+685 (RX J1700.1+6830).

Fluxes are in the unit of photons/cm^2/s above 100 MeV. All uncertainties are statistical only.

  • PKS 1424-41 is quite bright and active with daily flux about 2 X 10-6 during the week.
  • PKS 0507+17 continues to be in high state with daily flux about 1 X 10-6 during the week and peaking at 1.6 X 10-6 on May 8th.
  • PKS 1510-089 continues to be detected with daily fluxes around or above 1 X 10-6 .
  • MRK 421, PKS 0426-380, 3C66A, PMN J2345-1555, 4C +38.41 and NGC 1275 detected in one or two days of the week (flux below 1 X 10-6 ).

LAT Mission week: 256.57 - 257.57

  • PKS 1424-41 is bright and active with daily flux above 2E-6 during the week and peaking at  3.1E-6 on April 30.
  • PKS 0507+17 is in high state with daily flux above 1.5E-6 during the week and peaking at 2E-6 on April 29 and May 2.
  • Blazars PMN J2345-1555, 4C +38.41 (B2 1633+382),  PKS 1510-08, and PKS 2345-16 are detected in some days of the week in bright state (daily flux level above or around 1e-6).
  • Other blazars detected, also sporadically, during the week, with daily flux below 1E-6 level are: Mkn 421, PKS 0426-380, PKS 0454-234, S5 0716+71, OJ 287, PKS 2326-502, PKS 2320-035, GB6 J1700+6830, S5 1044+71, 3C 454.3, Ton 599 and CTA 102.

Fluxes are in the unit of photons/cm^2/s above 100 MeV. All uncertainties are statistical only.

Fermi LAT Weekly Report N. 255


Covered period: 2013.Apr.22 - 2013.Apr.28
LAT Mission week: 255.57 - 256.57

  • PKS 2320-035 was detected on Apr. 25 and 28 with peak daily averaged flux of (1.1 +/- 0.3) which is 18 times its daily average flux from the 2FGL catalog (see ATel #5022).
  • PMN J2345-1555 was detected all week with daily averaged flux between (0.9 +/- 0.2) and (2.4 +/- 0.4).
  • PKS B1424-418 was detected all week with daily averaged flux between (1.8 +/- 0.3) and (2.5 +/- 0.4).
  • PKS 0507+17 was detected all week with a daily averaged flux between (1.4 +/- 0.3) and (4.7 +/- 0.5). The peak on Apr. 25 triggered a GCN Notice (see GCN#1366987519)
  • PKS 0426-380 was detected on Apr. 24 with daily averaged flux of (1.1 +/- 0.3).
  • S5 0716+71 was detected Apr. 22, 23 and 28 with a daily averaged flux between (0.6 +/- 0.2) and (1.0 +/- 0.2).
  • 4C +38.41 was detected all week with a daily averaged flux between (0.7 +/- 0.2) and (1.4 +/- 0.5).
  • PKS 1510-08 was detected on Apr. 24 with daily averaged flux of (1.2 +/- 0.3).
  • On Apr. 27 The LAT detected a strong high-energy GRB with a flux of (10 +/- 1.0) (see GCN Circular #14471 and GCN Circular #14508).
  • Sporadic daily detections of blazars (fluxes below 1): Mkn 421, CTA 102, OX 169, B2 2319+31, S5 1044+71.

Fluxes are in the unit of 10-6 photons/cm2/s above 100 MeV. All errors are statistical only.

  • PKS 0507+17 detected in flaring activity on April 21 with a daily flux (1.8±0.3) X 10-6. See ATel#5001.
  • Mrk 421 detected all week, with a daily flux between (0.2±0.1) X 10-6 and (0.8±0.1) X 10-6.
  • PKS 1424-418 detected from April 16 to 21, with a daily flux between (2.0±0.3) X 10-6 and (2.9±0.4) X 10-6.
  • S5 0716+71 detected on April 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21, with a daily flux between (0.3±0.1) X 10-6 and (0.7±0.2) X 10-6.
  • PKS 0426-380 detected on April 16, 17, 19, 20, and 21, with a daily flux between (0.6±0.2) X 10-6 and (1.1±0.2) X 10-6.
  • 4C +38.41 detected on April 15, 16, 19, and 21, with a daily flux between (0.6±0.1) X 10-6 and (1.1±0.3) X 10-6.
  • PMN J2345-1555 detected on April 17, 19, 20, and 21, with a daily flux between (0.4±0.1) X 10-6 and (0.6±0.2) X 10-6.
  • NGC 1275 detected on April 15, 19, and 20, with a daily flux between (0.3±0.1) X 10-6 and (0.6±0.2) X 10-6.
  • CTA 102 detected on April 19, and 20 with a daily flux of (1.0±0.3) X 10-6 and (0.6±0.2) X 10-6, respectively.
  • PKS 1510-089 detected on April 17 with a daily flux of (1.0±0.4) X 10-6.
  • Sporadic activity (daily fluxes below 10-6): PKS 2320-035 (April 16), PKS 0405-385 (April 18), OX 169 (April 19).
  • Fluxes are in the unit of photons/cm2/s above 100 MeV. All errors are statistical only.
