Fermi LAT Weekly report N. 318

Covered period: 2014 July 7 - July 13
LAT Mission week: 318.57 - 319.57
  • Lens B0218+35 (S3 0218+357) detected in flaring state on July 13 at a daily flux of (0.6 ± 0.1). The gamma-ray lensed blazar displayed a peculiar hard spectrum with photon index of 1.3 ± 0.1 (see ATel#6316).  
  • New LAT source, Fermi J1433-1806, detected on July 10 at a daily flux of 0.62 ± 0.06 and a photon index of 2.1 ± 0.1 (see ATel#6310). The closest candidate counterpart is PKS 1430-178 (z=2.331).
  • 3C 454.3 detected all week long with flux between 2 and 5.
  • PKS 1730-130 reached a daily flux of (1.2 ± 0.2) on July 10.
  • 4C +21.35 (PKS 1222+216) observed in three days of the week with daily average flux of 0.6.
  • NGC 1275 (Per A) detected in three days of the week reaching a daily flux of (0.9 ± 0.2) on July 10.
  • Sporadic activity (daily fluxes below 1.0) observed from PKS 1510–08, Mrk 421, PKS 2155-304, PKS 2326–502, PKS 0426-380, S5 0716+714, Mrk 501.

    • Fluxes are in the unit of 10^-6 photons/cm2/s above 100 MeV. All errors are statistical only.

Fermi LAT Weekly report N. 317

Covered period: 2014 June 30 - July 6
LAT Mission week: 317.57 - 318.57
  • TXS 0943+105 (GB6 J0946+1016, MG1 J094636+1017, z=1.0045 +/- 0.0005) was discovered in outburst during the week, peaking on July 2 with daily flux level of  (0.8 +/- 0.3)E-6  (25 times the 2FGL catalog flux). This is the first high activity state reported from this source since the beginning of the Fermi mission (see ATel#6292).
  • 3C 454.3 detected all the week with a daily flux level ranging between about 2.2E-6 and 4.7E-6.
  • PKS 1510-08 detected in declining phase during the week, from a daily flux level of 1.7E-6 to 0.5E-6.
  • AO 0235+164 is back being detected in three days of the week with daily flux about 0.4E-6.
  • Further bright blazars detected in some days of the week with daily flux in the range of about 0.7E-6 to 1.0E-6:  NGC 1275 (Per A), PKS 1424-41, PKS 1730-13, PKS 2326-502.
  • Other blazars detected in some days of the week (with daily flux lower than about 0.5E-6): Mkn 421, Mkn 501, PKS 0426-380, PKS 0308-611, 4C +21.35 (PG 1222+216), 4C +01.02 (PKS 0106+01), PKS 1144-379, OJ 14 (PKS 0808+019), 1ES 1959+650, S3 0218+35 (gravitational lens B0218+357).
  • GRB detected by the GBM during the week: GRB 140703A (GCN-Circ.#16512) and GRB 140706A (GCN-Circ.#16537).

  
Fluxes are in the unit of photons/cm^2/s above 100 MeV. All uncertainties are statistical only.

  • 3C 454.3 is active during whole week reaching a daily flux of 12.3 X 10-6 on Monday 23rd.
  • PKS 1510–089 detected in the first part of this week (daily flux above 1 X 10-6). 
  • Ton 599 , S5 0716+71, PKS 0447–439, PKS 2326–502, NGC 1275, PKS 1424–41, Mkn 421, S5 0716+71, S2 0109+22, 4C +21.35 all detected in one or two days of the week (flux below 1 X 10-6 ).
Fluxes are in the unit of photons/cm2/s above 100 MeV. All errors are statistical only.

LAT Mission week: 315.57 - 316.57
  • The FSRQ 3C 454.3 was detected all week long with daily fluxes above 4.4 units. The maximum gamma-ray flux during the week was reached on Jun. 22 with a flux of (13.3 ± 0.6) units.
  • PKS 2326–502 was detected on Jun. 18 with a daily flux of (1.0 ± 0.2) units.
  • PKS 1510–08 was detected from Jun. 20 to 22 with fluxes (1.6 ± 0.4), (1.8 ± 0.4) and (1.5 ± 0.3), respectively.
  • Sporadic daily detections of blazars (fluxes below 1): PKS B1424–418, NGC 1275, OC 457, PKS 2155–304, 4C +21.35, PKS 0426–380, S5 0716+71, PMN J2345–1555, S4 1144+40, 1ES 1215+303.

Fluxes are in the unit of 10-6 photons/cm2/s above 100 MeV. All errors are statistical only.

Fermi LAT Weekly report N. 314

Covered period: 2014.June.9 – 2014.June.15
LAT Mission week: 314.57 - 315.57
  • The FSRQ 3C 454.3 was detected in high state all week long (daily flux above 3 × 10–6). The peak of the gamma-ray emission was reached on Jun. 15 when the observed source flux was (1.4 ± 1)× 10–5. Further details are reported in ATel #6236.
  • PKS 1424–418 was detected with flux equal to 0.8 × 10–6 on Jun. 13 and 15.
  • PKS 1510–08 was detected with flux above 1 x 10–6  on June 12, 13 and 15.
  • Sporadic activity (daily fluxes below 1.0 × 10–6) observed from S5 0716+71, PKS 0426–380, PKS 0454–234, NGC 1275, PKS 1346-112, S5 0836+71, 4C +71.07, 3C 279, S5 1044+71, B2 1144+40, PKS 1824-58, PKS 0727-11, 4C +50.11.
Fluxes are in the unit of photons cm–2s–1 above 100 MeV. All errors are statistical only.

  • New LAT source detected from June 5 to June 7 positionally coincident with PKS 0131-522 (z=0.02). The source was detected with daily fluxes between (0.4+/-0.1) and (0.6+/-0.2), see Atel #6223.
  • 3C 454.3 was detected all the week with daily averaged fluxes between (2.2 ± 0.4) and (7.4 ± 0.6).
  • PKS 1510–08 was detected on June 2 with a daily flux of (1.3 ± 0.4).
  • PKS 2326–502 was detected on June 4 and June 6 with daily fluxes of (1.1 ± 0.2) and (0.7 ± 0.2) respectively.
  • PKS B1424–418 was detected from June 4 to June 6 with daily fluxes between (0.7 ± 0.2) and (1.0 ± 0.2).
  • Sporadic daily detections of blazars (fluxes below 1): PKS 0426–380, NGC 1275, PKS 0454–234, S5 0716+71, PMN J2345–1555.

    • Fluxes are in the unit of 10-6 photons/cm2/s above 100 MeV. All errors are statistical only.

  • 3C 454.3 was detected all week with a daily averaged flux between (1.7 ± 0.7) and (2.6 ± 0.3).
  • PKS 1424–41 was detected all week with a daily averaged flux between (0.3 ± 0.2) and (1.2 ± 0.3).
  • PKS 2142-75 (ATel #6208) was detected all week with a daily averaged flux between (0.7 ± 0.2) and (1.2 ± 0.3).
  • PKS 1510-089 was detected on May 27 and on May 28 with daily averaged fluxes between (0.7 ± 0.3) and (1.3 ± 0.4).
  • S5 0836+71 was detected on May 27, May 28 and May 29 with daily averaged fluxes between (0.5 ± 0.2) and (1.5 ± 0.4).
  • Sporadic daily detections of blazars (fluxes below 1): S4 1144+40, PKS 2326-502, Mkn 421, PKS 0426-380, PMN J2345–1555, S5 0836+71, PMN J0948+0022.

Fluxes are in the unit of 10-6 photons/cm2/s above 100 MeV. All errors are statistical only.
