Fermi LAT Weekly Report N. 420




Covered period: 2016 June 20-26
LAT Mission week: 420.57-421.57




  • 3C 454.3 was detected all week with daily averaged fluxes between (2.1 ± 0.2) and (18.9 ± 0.6). An ATel #9190 was issued.

  • PKS 1510-08 was detected Jun. 20, 21, 22, and 25 with daily averaged fluxes between (0.7 ± 0.1) and (1.1 ± 0.2).

  • CTA 102 was detected Jun. 19 and 26 with daily averaged fluxes of (4.5 ± 0.7) and (1.7 ± 0.1), respectively.

  • 4C +01.02 was detected all week, except Jun. 24, with daily averaged fluxes between (0.9 ± 0.2) and (1.4± 0.2), respectively.

  • Sporadic daily detections of blazars (fluxes below 1):
  • PKS B1424-418, PG 1553+113, AO 0235+164, PKS 0426-380, S5 1044+71, PKS 0454-234, TXS 1028+605, OT 081, PMN J1332-1256, SDSS J145059.99+520111.7, Ton 599, TXS 1452+516, BL Lacertae, PKS 0336-01, 4C +01.28, S4 0954+65, PMN J0206-1150, 1ES 1959+650, PKS 2155-304, TXS 2241+406..

    Fluxes are in the unit of photons/cm^2/s above 100 MeV. All uncertainties are statistical only.

    • 3C 454.3 was detected all week with daily averaged fluxes between (2.7 ± 0.3) and (10.0 ± 0.9). A GCN/FERMI NOTICE #1465829332 was issued.

    • 3C 279 was detected Jun. 13 and 14 with daily averaged fluxes of (3.7 ± 0.4) and (1.8 ± 0.3), respectively.

    • 4C +01.02 was detected Jun. 14, 16 and 18 with daily averaged fluxes of (0.9 ± 0.2), (0.7 ± 0.2) and (1.1 ± 0.3), respectively.

    • CTA 102 was detected all week with daily averaged fluxes between (1.3 ± 0.4) and (2.4 ± 0.3).

    • PKS B1424-418 was detected between Jun. 15 and 18 with daily averaged fluxes between (0.6 ± 0.2) and (1.0 ± 0.3).

    • Sporadic daily detections of blazars (fluxes below 1):
    • BL Lacertae, Mkn 421, S5 1044+71, PKS 0805-07, PKS 0502+049, PG 1553+113, PKS 0426-380, PKS 0454-234, TXS 2241+406, PKS 2155-304, AO 0235+164, PKS 0524-485, PKS 0537-441, PKS 1510-08, PKS 0521-36 .

      Fermi LAT Weekly report N. 418


      Covered period: 2016 June6-12
      LAT Mission week: 418.57-419.57


      • CTA 102 is the brighest gamma-ray blazar of the week, with daily fluxes between about 1.0e-6 and 3.0e-6. The peak is reached on June 8.
      • 3C 454.3 with daily fluxes between about 0.8e-6 and 1.8e-6.
      • 3C 279 flare occurred at the end of the week with daily flux 1.5e-6 (see also GCN/FERMI NOTICE #1465829332).
      • Flare of TXS 2358+209 on June 11 with daily flux 1.4e-6.
      • 4C +01.02 (PKS 0106+01) with daily fluxes between about 0.8e-6 and 1.0e-6.
      • S5 1044+71 with daily fluxes between about 0.6e-6 and 0.8e-6.
      • PKS 1424-41 with daily fluxes between about 0.6e-6 and 0.8e-6.
      • PKS 1510-08 detected in the second half of the week with daily flux between about 0.7e-6 and 1.0e-6.
      • PKS 0502+049, TXS 2358+209, TXS 2241+406, BL Lac, PKS 1502+106, B2 1846+32A, OX 169 are all detected sporadically during the week with with daily fluxes between about 0.6e-6 and 0.8e-6.
      • Lensed blazar S3 0218+35 (lens B0218+357) detected on June 9 and June 11 respectively at 0.5e-6 and 0.3e-6.
      • TeV blazar 1ES 1959+650 active during the week with daily flux between about 0.1e-6 and 0.3e-6 (more details in ATel#9148).
      • Flare of PKS 2232-488 on June 12 with daily flux 0.5e-6 about 20 times the 3FGL catalog averaged flux.
      • Flare of OK 492 on June 8 with daily flux 0.3e-6 about 20 times the 3FGL catalog averaged flux.
      • Other TeV blazars of the week detected, also sporadically, below 0.5e-6: 1ES 1215+303, PG 1553+113, PKS 2155-304, Mkn 421, Mkn 501, TXS 0518+211 (VER 0521+211), 3C 66A.
      • Other blazars of the week detected, also sporadically, around or below 0.5e-6: PKS 0426-380, PKS 0454-234, PKS 0537-441, PKS 0524-485, NGC 1275 (Per A), MG1 J021114+1051, TXS 1452+516, Ton 599, PKS 0336-01.

      • PKS 1510-08 detected on 1 June with daily flux (1.2± 0.2).
      • Fermi J1057-6027 detected on 30 May with daily flux (1.1± 0.1).
      • Sporadic activity (fluxes below 1): BL Lacertae, PKS 1256-220, NGC 1275, PKS B1424-418, TXS 0141+268, OK 492, PKS 0426-380, PMN J1332-1256, Mkn 421, PKS 2335-027,S5 0716+71 , 3C 66A, S4 1030+61, TXS 2358+209, PKS 2023-07, S5 1044+71, TXS 2241+406, 1ES 1959+650, PKS 1502+106, S3 0218+35, B2 2113+29, 3C 279, Cen A Core, PG 1553+113.

      • 3C 454.3 detected all week with daily flux between (3.0±0.3) and (1.3±0.2).
      • CTA 102 detected all week with daily flux between (2.2±0.3) and (0.5±0.2).
      • PKS B1424-418 detected all week with daily flux between (1.2±0.2) and (0.5±0.1).
      • BL Lacertae detected all week with daily flux between (1.2±0.2) and (0.6±0.1).
      • 4C +01.02 detected all week with daily flux between (1.1±0.2) and (0.7±0.2).
      • PKS 0426-380 detected all week with daily flux between (1.8±0.3) and (0.4±0.2). See the GCN/FERMI NOTICE #1464101866.
      • PKS 1510-08 detected on 29 May with daily flux (1.2±0.2). This source was also detected by HESS(see ATel #9102) and MAGIC (see ATel #9105). In the Fermi band, despite displaying a not so remarkable flux or hardening, the LAT detected two HE (>10GeV) events on May 29th, and four HE ones on May 30th. These are thus coincident with the HESS detections.
      • Sporadic activity (fluxes below 1):TXS 2241+406, Mrk 421, PKS 1256-220, PKS 1511-100, PMN J1332-1256, SDSS J145059.99+520111.7, 3C 279, S5 1044+71, PG 1553+113, NGC 1275, PKS 1502+106, PKS 1313-333, PKS 2155-304, 1ES 1959+650, S4 1030+61, S5 0836+71, PKS 0336-01, PKS 0727-11, LSI +61 303, VER 0521+211, PKS 0502+049, PKS 0805-07, B2 1846+32B, S5 0716+71, PKS 0454-234, TXS 2358+209.

      • VER 0521+211 detected on May 11 and on May 13 with daily flux (1.7±0.3) and (1.0±0.2), respectively.
      • ON 393 detected on May 11 with daily flux (0.5±0.1), more than 30 times its 3FGL average.
      • ASPJ202124+365447 detected on May 11 and on May 13 with daily flux (1.2±0.1) and (1.1±0.3), respectively.

      • 4C +01.02 detected on 27 April with flux (1.1±0.2) and on 29 April with flux (1.1±0.3).
      • No LAT sources detected on daily or shorter intervals within 90% containment of IceCube neutrino event 67093193 on 27 April (ATel#9008).
      • Enhanced VHE activity consistent with BL Lac 1ES 1959+650 on 27 April (ATel#9010).
      • Sporadic activity (fluxes below 1): S5 1053+70, PKS 2023–07, Mkn 421, B2 2113+29, PKS 0135–247, FBQS J102333.5+395312, 3C 454.3, PMN J1332–1256, MG4 J163918+4127, ON 393, S5 1044+71, PKS 0454–234, NGC 1275, PKS 0514–459, PKS 0537–441, B2 2113+29, 3C 273.
