Fermi LAT Weekly Report N. 253

Covered period: 2013.April.08 - 2013.April.14
LAT Mission week: 253.57 - 254.57

  • Mrk 421 detected from April 9 to 14, with a daily flux between (0.4±0.1) X 10-6 and (0.8±0.2) X 10-6. See ATel#4977. Due to the exceptionally high X-ray and TeV activity (ATel#4974 and ATel#4976), and in response to a Target of Opportunity request, Fermi has interrupted the nominal all-sky scanning mode starting at 23:00 UT on April 12 and transitioned to a modified survey mode where Fermi stays rocked 50 deg north. The modified Fermi survey mode provides an increase in the exposure on Mrk 421 by about a factor of 2.
  • CTA 102 detected all week, with a daily flux between (0.8±0.2) X 10-6 and (3.6±0.4) X 10-6.
  • PKS 1424-418 detected on April 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, and 14, with a daily flux between (1.7±0.4) X 10-6 and (2.4±0.4) X 10-6.
  • S5 0716+71 detected on April 8, 10, 11, and 14, with a daily flux between (0.4±0.1) X 10-6 and (0.8±0.2) X 10-6.
  • 4C +38.41 detected on April 10, 11, 12, and 14, with a daily flux between (0.6±0.1) X 10-6 and (1.3±0.3) X 10-6.
  • PMN J2345-1555 detected on April 11, 12, 13, and 14, with a daily flux between (0.6±0.2) X 10-6 and (0.8±0.2) X 10-6.
  • A solar flare was detected on April 11 with a daily flux of (9.0±0.7) X 10-6.
  • Sporadic activity (daily fluxes below 10-6): PKS 0446-439 (April 8), PKS 0454-234 (April 8), S5 1044+71 (April 9), 3C 454.3 (April 9 and 14), PKS 1124-186 (April 11), PKS 0426-380 (April 12 and 13), PKS 0405-385 (April 14).
  • Fluxes are in the unit of photons/cm2/s above 100 MeV. All errors are statistical only.

Note. All the fluxes reported above are from the ASP analysis and should be considered preliminary and should not be used for publication, however they are indicative of the flux range and the current status of a source. Source association is done on the basis of source location, considering spatial coincidence only, and it is not indicative of an identification.
