Fermi LAT weekly report N. 288

Covered period: 2013.Dec.9 – 2013.Dec.15
LAT Mission week: 288.57 - 289.57

  • FERMI J0623-3351 was detected for the first time in gamma rays on 2013 December 14.  The source showed a flux of 0.1 × 10–6 and a particularly hard gamma-ray spectrum with a photon index of 1.9+/-0.1 (ATel #5668). Follow-up observations indicated that the gamma-ray source is probably associated with the blazar PMN J0623-3350 (ATel #5684).
  • 3C 279 was detected all week with daily flux above 1 × 10–6. The highest flux reached during this week was 3.2 × 10–6 and was observed on 2013 December 10.
  • PKS 2326–502 was detected all week; the highest daily flux of 2.1 × 10–6 was recorded on 2013 December 15.
  • PKS 1510-089 was detected all week with a daily flux ranging between 0.4 × 10–6 and 0.9 × 10–6.
  • PKS 0426–380 was detected all week long (daily flux between 0.1 × 10–6 and 0.6 × 10–6).
  • 4C +21.35 was detected throughout the week and reached a peak flux = 1 × 10–6  on 2013 December 11.
  • Other blazars detected in some days of the week with a daily flux lower than 1 × 10–6 : Mrk 421, PKS 1424–418, PKS 0454-234, S5 1044+71, PKS 0208–512, NGC 1275, B3 1343+451, CTA 102, PKS 1244-255, VER 0521+211, B2 1520+31, PKS 0524–485, PKS 2142-75, 4C +28.07.
Fluxes are in the unit of photons cm–2s–1 above 100 MeV. All errors are statistical only.
Note. All the fluxes reported above are from the ASP analysis and should be considered preliminary and should not be used for publication, however they are indicative of the flux range and the current status of a source. Source association is done on the basis of source location, considering spatial coincidence only, and it is not indicative of an identification.
