Fermi LAT Weekly Report N. 359



Covered period: 2015.April.20 - 2015.April.26
LAT Mission week: 359.57 - 360.57

  • A new gamma-ray source in the vicinity of PKS B2258-022 was detected in flaring activity on April 22 and 23, with a daily flux of (1.2±0.3) X 10-6 and (0.9±0.3) X 10-6, respectively. See ATel#7445.
  • PKS 2032+107 detected in flaring activity on April 25 and 26 with a daily flux of (0.9±0.2) X 10-6 and (1.2±0.2) X 10-6, respectively. See ATel#7453.
  • PKS 1510-08 detected on April 20, 22, 23, 24, 25, and 26, with a daily flux between (2.9±0.5) X 10-6 and (1.7±0.4) X 10-6.
  • PKS 0426-380 detected on April 20, 22, 25, and 26, with a daily flux between (0.5±0.1) X 10-6 and (0.3±0.1) X 10-6.
  • PKS 1441+25 detected on April 20, 21, 22, and 23, with a daily flux between (0.5±0.2) X 10-6 and (0.2±0.1) X 10-6.
  • S5 0716+71 detected on April 20, 24, and 26, with a daily flux between (0.6±0.1) X 10-6 and (0.4±0.1) X 10-6.
  • Mrk 421 detected on April 21, 24, and 25, with a daily flux between (0.3±0.1) X 10-6 and (0.2±0.1) X 10-6.
  • NGC 1275 detected on April 22, 23, and 24, with a daily flux between (1.0±0.3) X 10-6 and (0.4±0.2) X 10-6.
  • PKS 0402-362 detected on April 22, 23, and 25, with a daily flux between (0.8±0.2) X 10-6 and (0.3±0.1) X 10-6.
  • 3C 120 detected in flaring activity on April 24 with a daily flux of (2.7±0.4) X 10-6.
  • Sporadic activity (fluxes below 1 X 10-6): PKS 0336-01 (April 21 and 22), TXS 2241+406 (April 21), PKS 1502+106 (April 24), 4C +01.02 (April 25 and 26), PKS 0308-611 (April 25 and 26).

Fluxes are in the unit of photons/cm2/s above 100 MeV. All errors are statistical only.

Fermi LAT Weekly Report N. 358


Covered period: 2015.Apr.13 - 2015.Apr.19
LAT Mission week: 359.57 - 360.57

  • PKS 1510-08 was detected all week with daily averaged fluxes between (1.4 +/- 0.4) and (4.4 +/- 0.6).
  • PKS 1441+25 (ATel #6878) was detected all week long except on April 17. The daily averaged fluxes range  from (0.3 +/- 0.1) to (0.6 +/- 0.1) and spectral indexes from (1.6+/-0.2) to (2.2+/-0.2)  High energy photons above 10 GeV were detected during the week (up to 48.7 GeV). The source was also detected at very high energies gamma-rays by the MAGIC telescopes (ATel #7416).
  • S5 0716+71 was detected all week with daily averaged fluxes between (0.4 +/- 0.1) and (1.1 +/- 0.2) and spectral indexes (1.6 +/- 0.1) and (2.1 +/- 0.2). High energy photons above 10 GeV were detected during the week (up to 21.8 GeV).
  • Sporadic daily detections of blazars (fluxes below 1): PKS 0130–17, PKS 0402–362, PKS 0426–380, PKS 0736+01, PKS 2032+107, BL Lacertae, TXS 2241+406, 4C +01.02, PKS 0308–611, 1H 1013+498, 3C 454.3, NGC 1275, PKS 1502+106, S4 1849+67.
Fluxes are in the unit of 10-6 photons/cm2/s above 100 MeV. All errors are statistical only.

Fermi LAT Weekly report N. 357


Covered period: 2015 April 6 - 12
LAT Mission week: 357.57 - 358.57

  • Flare of the optically-selected and polarized BL Lac object SDSS J084411.67+531250.7 (NVSS J084411+531250, BZB J0844+5312, 3FGL J0843.9+5311) on April 6 with daily averaged flux of 0.3e-6, about 50 times the averaged flux reported in the 3FGL catalog. A high-urgency ToO observation by Swift showed a X-ray and optical-UV spectral energy distribution brightening of a factor of about 5 with respect to archival observations. This correlated flaring activity observed by Fermi and Swift confirms the identification of 3FGL J0843.9+5311 (2FGL J0843.9+5312) with SDSS J084411.67+531250.7. More details in ATel#7358.
  • Flare of the flat spectrum radio quasar PKS 0130-17 (OC -150, TXS 0130-171, 3EG J0130-1758, 3FGL J0132.6-1655, z=1.02) on April 12, with daily averaged flux 1.9e-6, about 35 times greater than the average flux reported in the 3FGL catalog. More details in ATel#7393.
  • The VHE gamma-ray blazar PKS 1441+25 is detected in high activity state on April 7 and 10 both with daily averaged flux 0.6e-6 and photon spectral index 1.7.
  • PKS 1510-08 detected in high state all week long with daily averaged fluxes between 1.8e-6 and 3.0e-6.
  • PKS 0736+01 detected in high state all week long with daily averaged fluxes between 0.9e-6 and 1.4e-6.
  • 4C +01.02 (PKS 0106+01) detected in high state all week long with daily averaged fluxes between 0.7e-6 and 1.1e-6.
  • Flare of S5 0716+71 in the first part of the week, with daily peak flux 1.6e-6, photon spectral index 1.8 on April 6.
  • 3C 454.3 detected all week long with daily averaged fluxes between 0.6e-6 and 1.3e-6.
  • Further bright blazars detected most of the week with daily averaged flux between about 0.7e-6 and 1.0e-6: BL Lac, PKS 2032+107, PKS 0426-380, TXS 2241+406, PKS 1424-41.
  • Other blazars of the week detected below 0.6e-6: 3C 66A, S4 1849+67, PKS 0402-362, PKS 0454-234,NGC 1275 (Per A), PKS 0308-611, CTA 102, 3C 279, PKS 0502+049, B2 1520+31, S5 1803+78, Mkn 421, Mkn 501, PKS 2155-304, 4C +38.41 (B2 1633+38).
  • High-mass gamma-ray binary 1FGL J1018.6-5856 detected in high activity state in some days of the week with daily averaged fluxes between 1.2e-6 and 1.8e-6.

Fermi LAT Weekly Report N. 356

  • PKS 1510-08 was detected all week with daily averaged fluxes between (0.9 +/- 0.2) and (7.8 +/- 0.5). This strong flaring activity triggered two GCN notices, see GCN #1428072989 and GCN #1428158789.
  • PKS 0736+01 was detected Apr. 1 through Apr 6 with daily averaged fluxes between (0.4 +/-0.1) and (2.6 +/- 0.4).
  • Sporadic daily detections of blazars (fluxes below 1):PKS 1441+25, CGRaBS J1703-6212, PKS 0426-380, NGC 1275, Mkn 421, PKS 2032+107, S5 0716+71, PKS 0521-36, 4C +21.35, GB6 J1542+6129, BL Lacertae.

Fluxes are in the unit of 10-6 photons/cm2/s above 100 MeV. All errors are statistical only.

Fermi LAT Weekly Report N. 355

  • PMN J1703-6212 was detected on Mar. 29 with a daily averaged flux of (0.5 +/- 0.1). This flare is the brightest this source has been during the Fermi mission, see ATel #7330.
  • PKS 1510-08 was detected all week with daily averaged fluxes between (1.8 +/- 0.2) and (3.2 +/- 0.3).
  • PKS 0502+049 was detected all week with daily averaged fluxes between (0.8 +/- 0.2) and (2.3 +/- 0.4).
  • PKS 0736+01 was detected all week with daily averaged fluxes between (0.6 +/- 0.2) and (2.0 +/- 0.4).
  • PKS 0402-362 was detected on Mar. 24 with a daily averaged flux of (0.5 +/- 0.1).
  • Sporadic daily detections of blazars (fluxes below 1):Mkn 421, PKS 1441+25, B2 1520+31, PKS 1622–29, S5 0716+71, PG 1553+113, ON 246, NGC 1275.

Fluxes are in the unit of 10-6 photons/cm2/s above 100 MeV. All errors are statistical only.
